Food and Wine Pairing 101

Free – $75.00There has been much written on the art of food and wine pairings but when it comes down to it, it can be broken down to a few, simple concepts.
In this interactive class, beautifully prepared bites with artfully chosen wines will be discussed as to why they work or don’t work.
We’ll talk about the preparation of foods and accompanying sauces/condiments and their varying roles in food and wine pairings.
Class Details
Wine & Food Pairing educational class 7pm-9pm, $75 per guest – must be 21+ to attend, 24 person max
All general class sales are final and non-refundable 10 days before the scheduled class for purchases of 4 people or less, and 30 days before the day of the class for purchases of 5 or more guests. If you are within the above stated windows of time, reservations cannot be canceled or rescheduled. We recommend travel insurance as we cannot make refunds for cancellations due to medical, family or business emergencies or other unexpected events. You can always transfer your reservation to another person.
Payments for classes cancelled more than 10 days (4 or less people) and 30 days (5 or more people) before the scheduled class may be applied to a future class or may be refunded.
*If a particular class does not reach minimum numbers or for some unforeseen reason must be cancelled, you will receive a full refund or you may select a future class to attend.*
About Danielle Botros
Danielle Botros is a Certified Sommelier and Certified Wine Educator, a passionate connoisseur who will help you define your palate and develop your fine wine expertise, from exploring food and wine pairings to great advice on collecting wine to learning the tricks of deciphering challenging wine lists.
Having spent a couple of decades as a wine educator, she can cover topics such as new world vs old world wines, mastering blind wine tasting, wine words and what they mean to simply discussing basic differences between the most common grape varietals.
Whether you are just starting to delve into the fascinating world of wine or consider yourself to be fairly seasoned, Danielle will broaden your scope of knowledge, heighten your appreciation and demystify the sometimes overwhelming amount of information swirling around out there.

Owing to her former life as a New York TV soap actress, Danielle adds a warm, sophisticated and fun dimension to evenings that take guests on an exploration that leave a lasting impression.
Indulge your recipe book and your taste buds with Silverado Cooking School’s hands-on cooking classes in Napa. In our state-of-the-art kitchen, students will use some of the finest equipment available along with fresh, seasonal ingredients from our own farm to prepare delicious meals.
During our Napa cooking classes, you do the cooking under the guidance of a professionally trained chef. After a brief introduction, you will be given various seasonal recipes to prepare. As the dishes are completed everyone will come together to enjoy the meal that they have just prepared.
All classes are hands-on unless otherwise noted and geared towards adults and teens 16+ (with parent consent unless accompanied by an adult). Occasionally, we offer demonstration classes, which are a great way to learn new techniques and observe how to properly prepare regional cuisine.
