Join us for a culinary Tour de France as we explore the regional cuisine that has evolved around the ingredients and seasons of the country’s diverse terroir. From the Brittany coast to the foothills of the Alps, and the pleasures of Alsace to the Mediterranean, we will seek out time honored, home cooked classic dishes.
Session 4. Brittany and Normandy
Normandy is famous for it’s lush pastures, rolling hills, ancient orchards, and pretty fishing villages. It is no wonder therefore that Normans utilize the local treasures of cream, pork, apples, seafood and of course cheese in their cuisine, often with a shot of Calvados between courses!
Next door in Brittany you can’t escape the crepe, found in every town and every street corner, these are most commonly eaten sweet (sugar / sugar and lemon / butter and sugar).
